The Dalesbred Collection of furniture is made primarily of Oak,
with the option of using beautiful boards of Burr Oak as inlays
and panels, although any native hardwood or maple is available.
The Arts & Crafts movement, with designers the like of William
Morris and Charles Rennie McKintosh have had a great influence
on the contemporary design of our present collection. The simple
lines allow the beauty of the wood to speak for itself.
Although general machinery is used for sawing, plaining and shaping,
the finer cabinet work and assembly is all done by hand. The finish
of oil and wax is then applied with a soft cloth to leave the
timber as natural and tactile as possible.
Finally, each piece in our collection is inlaid with the Dalesbred
Rams Head, numbered, dated, carries the craftsmans initials as
well as your name and the occassion you purchased the piece.
